David Klingerman is a filmmaker, cinematographer, visual effects artist, and composer whose work combines technical craft with intimate, human-centered storytelling. He is the founder of Five Stone Productions and currently works full time as an independent filmmaker.

His primary focus is Waterpot, a feature-length documentary filmed in Kakamega, Kenya. Centered on Martha Akumu and others who have lived for decades without reliable access to clean water, the film explores how water scarcity intersects with poverty, violence, displacement, and social stigma. Klingerman directed, photographed, and produced the film across multiple trips to Kenya beginning in 2022. Now nearing completion, Waterpot is being prepared for festival consideration and international release.

Klingerman began his career studying film scoring at Berklee College of Music before spending four years managing a homeless men’s shelter. During that period, he developed his skills in cinematography, editing, motion graphics, and 3D visual effects. He later graduated summa cum laude from Cincinnati State’s Audio/Video Production program and co-founded Storyocity, an award-winning motion design and advertising studio.

His work has included cinematography, electronic press kit production, visual effects, and post-production roles on more than 20 feature films. He also played a central technical and creative role in completing Pandora’s Box, a 40-minute stereoscopic 360-degree concert experience, overseeing cinematography, editing, immersive post-production, stitching, compositing, and CGI environment work.
